My LO is transitioning from preschool to kindergarten next month. She just turned 5, and I’m concerned that she hasn’t learned how to read yet. Should she be able to read by the time she starts kindergarten? Worried she might have a learning issue or be falling behind.

My wife and I are about to have our first! We both became vegetarian about six years ago together. Neither of us were raised vegetarian, though. Maintaining our lifestyle is really important to us moving forward, but we’re worried that it won’t provide our child with enough of the nutrients she’ll need. Is there anything we should know about raising a child vegetarian?

I know there is a lot of controversy when it comes to breastfeeding in public. I really don’t care at this point. If my son is hungry, I’m going to feed him. The looks and judgement I keep getting from people are starting to get on my nerves though. Can someone explain just what is so wrong with it?

I’m looking for a popular Mommy & Me class in Gardena. I’d like one that isn’t too small because I want to meet lots of other parents! Suggestions, pretty please! Thanks in advance, mommas.

Do I have to start feeding solid food to my baby at four months? We’re almost at that mark and I’m hesitant. She is breastfeeding well and on a great schedule now, but it took us a few weeks to get her there as a newborn - don’t wanna disrupt our good flow now.

The terrible twos are almost over because my daughter’s 3rd birthday is coming up! I’m trying to figure out what we should do for her birthday. I don’t think she remembers her first or second birthdays, so this will probably be the first birthday she remembers. I want to make it a good one! She is obsessed with animals, but I don’t want to do a petting zoo because that seems like such a hassle. Any ideas for an LA area family?

Crenshaw single mom in need of help finding a daycare that accepts government subsidy! I receive government subsidy for my son’s child care. How do I find a daycare that accepts subsidy, though? Most of the daycares I’ve visited have very strict payment rules and guidelines. Getting subsidy was a blessing, but I’m just having trouble using it!

Our kids are far apart in age at 3 and 10. Our oldest is making plans for summer camp, making it a very frequent topic around the house. Now our preschooler wants to go to camp, too. He’s obviously too young for overnight camps, but WDYT? Any local reccs? Part of me is excited about the alone time I’d get if I could sync up their camp schedules.

Hi mamas! My husband and I are Hispanic, and we would really like to raise our kids to be bilingual and speak Spanish, but it's a different experience for them than it was for my husband and I. When we grew up, our parents really only spoke Spanish. My husband and I mostly speak English at home. Do you have any tips for us to help raise our kids to speak Spanish? They're ages 3 and 4!

Our (nearly) 3 YO is supposed to start daycare in a few weeks. He is pretty easy going compared to some children - not too picky or stubborn in most situations. The big issue we have right now though is that he hatesss sharing. My sister and her kiddos just moved down the street so he’s had a lot of cousin time all of the sudden (2 and 4 YOs). He’s not down for them to play with his toys at all. He hoards them and fully loses it if the other kids try to even touch his toys. How do we tackle before daycare starts?
