Hi! My name is Kiona. I am currently not in school but hope to attend FIU in the fall! I have completed one year and would like to get a degree in English Education, as I aspire to be an English teacher on day. I have been working with kids since I was 15, and love the joy they bring to life. Like a child, I love to play and have a good time. In my free time I love reading, bike riding, cooking, swimming and arts and crafts. While I love to be silly, I also understand the importance of academics and personal growth so a good balance is what I hope to achieve.
I am currently a student success coach at Brownsville Middle School. I work with students from ages 12-14, in grades 6-8. As a student success coach I am responsible for tutoring, mentoring, teaching and occasionally running small intervention groups for academic and/ or behavioral reasons. Outside of the classroom, I have primarily worked with toddlers and middle childhood kids (6-10). I speak English fluently and have had CPR training as a requirement at my job. I am a non-smoker and have clean driving record. Plus I am Covid19 vaccinated!
