I have always had a passion for working with kids and they seem to gravitate to me wherever I go. I have babysat a lot of kids throughout and have helped my parents take care of my 3 younger siblings growing up. Also, I have experience working with kids 2 years to preteen in a childcare setting. I also have experience working as a registered behavior technician with kids and adults on the autism spectrum of all ages. My approach to working with children includes using positive reinforcement because I believe children love to feel like they are doing a good job. Another approach I use is first/then statements which helps set clear expectations. I take into account that there may be times children might be having a rough day and I believe that with my experience I can be able to handle that. I approach difficult times with an understanding mindset that sometimes kids may not be able to funny articulate how they feel, therefore it is my responsibility to ensure that their words are heard and their feelings/emotions are taken into considerate and valued. Overall, I am reliable, honest, consistent, and passionate. I am super fun and outgoing. I love to be silly and do not mind looking silly. I am always open to being creative and making learning/play fun! Children have such a great way of bringing out the kid in you, therefore working with children makes me bring out my inner child.
