I am very understanding to children's emotions and mental wavelength. I have techniques to calm meltdowns and enjoy engaging in play with children. I try to make my presence safe and welcoming to any kind of child, whether they're super social or super shy. I enjoy building connection between parents and children alike as well as others I may work with. I have experience with "difficult" children and can easily identify if there are any problems they may be facing outside of the center. I am not uncomfortable with a child becoming physically affectionate (I.E. cuddling, hugging, holding hands, etc), especially if physical affection helps them regulate their emotions. I have less than one year of experience working with children between the ages of 2 months and 11 years at a daycare, however I cared for my little brother for many years after he was born between the ages of 1 month and 14 years old. I work well with neurodivergent and special needs children (such as ADHD children, autistic children, and children with learning disabilities such as dyslexia). I don't have experience with physically disabled children, however I am always willing to learn any kind of child's needs and preform any tasks needed to properly care for children of any physical or mental ability!
