I personally love kids, they carry such joy and I think it's something that should be cherished. I've grown up with a severe age gap with all of my siblings so if would usually fall on me to take care of them or at least pick up the slack. I'm familiar with the older todler to pre teen range the best and I've watched a couple babies from time to time over the years. I've never had a kid not like me, even with children whose parents considered to be difficult I never had a hard time. You just gotta see the world from their perspective and then try to figure out what to do next in a reasonable manner. I think being a younger person helps. They view me as big but I'm not as big as their parents so I come off as less intimidating. I do always follow rules. Whatever parameters I'm given I don't compromise on those. But I still make sure we have a good time so they don't feel as rough when bedtime, medicine, ect. does come up.
