I have been working with children since I was very young. I have five siblings and one of them, my baby brother. I have been watching over him since I was four years old. I have always loved caring for babies and I felt so lucky to have one in my life when he was born. I started serious babysitting when I was about 11-12 years old. I babysat my next door neighbors child who was only 3 at the time. She was also a young single mother so I basically lived at her house. I was constantly with him everyday for 4 years straight. I loved him like he was my family. We grew together. I would wake him up in the morning, dress him, brush his teeth, and walk him to school, then do the same for myself. It ended when she sadly had to move states. I still keep in touch with them. Years later I was blessed with another baby to care for. When I was 17, my brother's girlfriend got pregnant. They both worked full time, and weren't able to take time off, so at 17 I was in-charge of raising a week old baby. It has been the most difficult, but fulfilling thing I have done to this day. I have loved and learned so much from that experience. Sadly my niece is not in my life anymore, due to unforeseeable circumstances. I want to get back to my roots of caring for children. I want to make connections and see them grow, and help out parents who need it.
