Hi! My name is Aubrey, and I am a Psych Major at WWU! Childcare and a passion for making a positive impact on children's lives kind of runs in the family, as my mom, and her parents are all elementary school educators. I believe childhood is such a critical time for building a good sense of self, and a lot of that stems from who they are around, and how they have their needs met. I would like to be someone that your kids trust and feel safe around, and be a positive role model for. I enjoy working with children of all ages, and I have a particular soft spot for kids that are more reserved, because I was a very quiet child, and I love being able to try to help come up with solutions and activities that encourage coming out of their shell and becoming more confident! I know basic ASL, as I am currently studying to be a Psychologist that focuses on non-verbal and neurodivergent kiddos. I also have extensive knowledge in DBT therapy, which is really good for learning emotional regulation skills and how to be mindful of our own emotions and understanding how our actions could impact others. I love implementing age-appropriate DBT skills, because they are useful for any age! I am so excited to hear from you!
