Our goal is to engage diverse parents and families to nurture and prepare their children for school and life success. The core philosophy is that parents have the primary responsibility for teaching their children. Way to Grow helps parents gain knowledge, skills, and access to resources to support them in their roles as their children's first and most important teachers. By helping parents prepare their children for school, Way to Grow prepares children for life. We use OWL, SEEDS of Early Literacy along with MN Reading Corps' Response to Intervention model to guide our work with children and families to prepare all children for kindergarten. In our learning environments children build social and cognitive skills which serve as the foundation for school readiness. Our center based program, Preschool Pals supports our Home Visiting Model by providing children with a classroom experience offering opportunities in which each child can: -Learn to respect/accept each other's differences;-Have an opportunity to develop self-esteem while being appreciated and respected;-Become aware of her/his own physical, social emotional, and creative potential;-Become an intricate part of the learning community.All activities and written materials can be provided in the language which the family speaks.
