In my off time while I am not studying to be a teacher, I have been a Resident Camp Counselor through the YMCA. Here I provided campers a positive experience while being a role model for appropriate behavior. Mentored and taught life lessons through camp activities. Job includes; being with campers overnight for their stay at camp, leading activities such as: sports, climbing, and fine arts, Lifeguarding, understanding/training for medical needs like diabetes, tourettes, autism etc., and assisted in a leadership course to help campers reach their self set goals. Before becoming a full time counselor I volunteered for two years prior, Summers of 2016 and 2017, to assist in the Diabetes program to help mediate diabetic needs between campers, medical staff, and full time
counselors. Received Counselor the Year 2018 Award. The age ranges of camper differed between 6 to 14 years old.
I am currently on my last year of School at St. Norbert seeking my secondary History Education Degree.
