Laquesha R.
I have watched many kiddos over the years and working with them is my biggest passion in life! I have a BAS in Biology, but loved learning about child development and child psychology at Texas Tech.
Until recently, I worked at Pediatric Eye Specialists for 2 years. We saw patients of all ages from 1 day old premature babies to 90+ yr old seniors. Our MDs specialized working with premature infants and children with psychological, neurological, and other types of disabilities. I recently left PED only because I plan to move to Michigan since I will be attending University of Michigan at Flint next Fall. I was setback unexpectedly due to a family member’s need of care but hope to move in the next few months.
I've taught Sunday School, volunteered for Vacation Bible School, spent summers as a teacher's aide for Colleyville Montessori. I was also as an aide for Mrs. Lauren Vise’s 4th grade class at Bransford Elementary.
I am 7 years apart from my younger brother. Living with a single working mom, I was allowed the privilege to help raise him and kept him under my care most of his life before college.
I am certified in Basic Life Support Adult/Pediatrics, First Aid: Injury Prevention and UNV Precautions, and in CPR/AED & HCPl-CPR in Adult/Pediatrics (Choking).
Although learning through courses and experience is great, I have a quality i’m not able to define that allows me to connect with someone on a level that matches theirs in a way we can understand each other. This allows me to adapt to any situation and be attentive to what each child’s specific needs are at any given time.
