Hello my name is Kim. I LOVE working with children. I find it very rewarding. AlthoughI have no certificates or degrees, I have an entire life filled with experience in caring for children of all ages. Most importantly I am an AWESOME mom to 3 AWESOME kids who are now 3 successful young adults.
I was my oldest Daughters Girl Scout troop leader for 5 years. I was one of 3 moms in charge of 24 little girls. Teaching them how to be part of a team, how to be honest, respectful, how to help others in our community and how we have a responsibility in keeping our land clean for the coming generations. We had lots of fun making crafts, playing games, going camping and trips to all sorts of places( all planned and executed by us 3 moms). This incredible experience taught me a lot and will always be some of my fondest memories.
Before I moved to MB last March I was taking care a woman who has advanced liver disease for the last 6 years. A very difficult 6 years! But my real passion is with children. I was also working for a family with 3 and 5 yr old boys. Dalton, the 5yr old is a non-audible autistic child. He can only communicate through hand gestures and emotions. Most of his emotions are based on excitement, fear and anger! He became very comfortable with me from day 1. His father , Paul has been known to call me “The Child Whisperer”. I like to think of It as Dalton and I have a deeper understanding of each other on a different level of communication. We seem to pick up on each other's emotions. If I’m calm and open he’s calm and open! I don’t show anxiety, he doesn’t react with anxiety! It doesn’t always work but that's fine with us, we always work It out! Dillon the 3yr old is my “snuggle bunny”. Every morning he would crawl on my lap and he would say “Miss Kim, Pweet’s Dwagon and we watch before brefis”! He loves arts and crafts and playing school Especially when I had a new sticker pack for his worksheets!
I’m so sad to have moved away from my boys. I loved working for Paul & Shannon. They are exceptional people and parents! We all worked together for the greater good of Dalton and Dillon! Best child care position and relationship to a family I have ever experienced. I hope to find the same here in SC.
Currently I am working as a mothers helper 2 days a week for a family here is Myrtle Beach. When Kylie returns to work from maturity leave I will be staying on as her part-time nanny.
