Hello everyone I need some opinions/advice from any of you who have been through this:
We put our 19month old in a preschool/daycare 3 weeks ago (part time 3 days a week 9-4pm). Before daycare he had only stayed with my mom during the week while my husband and I work. He is super attached to my parents and mom and dad. He usually had separation issues with anyone other than us (even family). He has never been a great sleeper, but always slept in his own room with no problems.
After placing him in this daycare where there are about 8 other toddlers - he has changed and has gotten even worse seperation anxiety. I mean we cannot go anywhere without him thinking he is going to daycare and he gets upset and starts crying. He gets highly upset when I leave for work in the mornings and that has never been an issue. He is in a horrible mood after he comes home from daycare. Super clingy at home and wakes up screaming begging not to be alone. He absolutely loved baths and now he hates them.
I get that it takes time to adjust especially for part time kids, but we decided to pull him out of this daycare. Was it too soon or do those things sound like red flags? Because they do to me!
