Hello, I’m Sage!
I have a passion for childcare, and aim to give children a calm and secure environment to grow and develop. I love being able to support children and parents through their fast moving and fun stages of development! My experience in free and paid childcare gives me confidence in my capability to support parents in their mission to nurture their children. I have been providing in-home care since February of this year, and have worked in church nurseries for years before that.

My experience with special needs children gives me the ability to support children of many different backgrounds. I believe that children need and deserve safe and fun outlets to help them explore. I love giving children the opportunity to explore new experiences through crafts, boardgames, puzzles, and outdoor games. I love imaginative play, sensory play, and talking about the world around us. I love exploring new concepts and ideas, talking about how things work (how birds are able to fly, how things are made etc.), and more!
I currently work part time for the public library system, and absolutely love sharing my love of literature with children. In my free time I play guitar and have a love for all things music. Dance parties and making up our own songs is always a fun pastime!
I like to bring some of my own toys with me for the kids to play with, it helps me understand what each child is naturally interested in and drawn to.

I believe that open and honest communication is the backbone of trust. I foster trust with parents by frequently communicating on their child's day, and addressing any concerns that arise. I make a concerted effort to keep parents updated on any new developments I notice (words learned, skills gained). I’m a huge fan of open communication, and encourage parents to let me know if any issues arise.

I have a flexible schedule and am always open to a change of pace. My experience allows me to feel comfortable caring for up to three children, while gently enforcing household rules and doing light housework.
