During my junior and senior years of high school, I had the pleasure of taking a career in teaching class where I would spend one hour Tuesdays - Fridays helping out in a 2nd and 3rd grade split class. I was able to spend time with the children helping them with that day's lesson as well as helping with anything else the teacher may have needed. In addition to the experience from the class, I was also able to help out families in or around my town whenever they needed someone to watch over their children or their house when they were away. Over the years I have become so very grateful for these experiences and for the opportunities to get to know and work with children, boosting my desire to further my work with kids and become an elementary educator in the future.
