I believe in guiding and teaching children through play, here they learn cognitive, language physical and social skills. Children move through different stages of development. It is important to look at the stages of development and plan appropriate activities. When dealing with behaviors I believe you need to look at what the function of the behavior and set an appropriate consequence being consistent with follow through. Positive reinforcement and redirection are encouraging ways to deal with behaviors. It is important for children to eat a healthy diet and have rest time. I believe in the safety of every child and making sure the environment is safe for children. Modeling appropriate behavior is very important for a child's future. I do this by talking to them, respecting their view points, listening, and trying to understand how they feel.
