My personal values and beliefs about teaching and learning are my responsibility as a childcare provider is to provide care and education in my home that is safe, healthy and responsive for each child. I am committed to supporting children's developments ,learning, respecting individual differences and helping children to learn, live, play and work cooperatively. I believe that children learn through example, and as I show them through using my manners and treat them with respect they will learn to do the same. I believe that children learn best through play, educational play is the best way to teach young children. I believe that giving the child choices about which educational activity they would like to do is important, this way the child feels they have some control and I think they learn more. I believe that imagination play helps the child develop self-regulation skills, social skills, such as problem solving, communication and cognitive flexibility and creativity. I as a childcare provider need to ensure to give children the time and space for free form play, it can encourage imaginative play to impact lessons in language, math, science and many other subjects. My role as a childcare provider is to provide opportunities for children to have spontaneous, unstructured child-invited play experiences. I would have my classroom large enough area to play, paying close attention to my dramatic and block area. I will provide stimulate materials. I will ensure that the childcare is well organized so that children can select toys and materials and also be able to pit them back. i would ensure that I base my curriculum on things the children already know and build from there. My role as a childcare provider is to acknowledge that families are of primary importance in a child's development, because we both have common interest in the child's well-being we acknowledge a primary responsibility to bring about communication, cooperation and collaborate between home and childcare in ways that enhance the child'e development. I would encourage families to participate in my childcare program and develop a relationship of mutual trust. I will ensure to maintain confidentiality and respect my families right to privacy and refrain from discussing their situation with anyone. I would also ensure that I refer any family in need of community resources and personal support the information needed.
