Here at little Rays of Sunshine we believe that the first years of a child's life is by far the most important, helping to lay the foundation for all intellectual and emotional development to follow. By building a foundation on interacting with others, becoming active members of their community, character building, having hands on experience of the world around them in a safe and secure environment, with caring and loving adults ready to guide and encourage a child's natural drive to explore and learn! We have a balanced curriculum that helps to develop children's skills based around theorists such as vygotsky and Reggio Emilia, who believed that children are at the center of all learning and that adults should be active participants in play rather than control the play and outcome. Children of all ages are encouraged to join in with daily experiences and thus the children learn from watching others around them. Each day is devoted to a different area of learning; mondays we focus on stem projects and science, tuesdays we focus on life skills and cooking projects, Wednesday's we get creative and develop our imaginations and artistic skills ( we sometimes will replicate a famous artists work and learn about the different ways the product was created), Thursday's we focus on literacy and math, Friday's we have a special fun day such as a movie day, pj day, special guest appearance and more!
