Bright Steps Academy Preschool / Childcare is a caring and loving environment where your child can learn and grow. At our home daycare, we focus on teaching children social, emotional, and behavioral skills to ensure your child's development. We focus on a variety of Developmental Play-based and STEAM activities to promote an environment of learning and curiosity. Our daycare operating hours are from 7:30 am to 5:30 pm, and are open M - F. Through several enrichment programs we further multilingual language development with German, French, Spanish and Armenian learning. The Bright Steps Academy was founded in 2021 by Maral Natalie Kalayci to provide students with a unique educational experience that is truly a "cut above", helping children prepare for what the future holds in today's modern era and keeping up with the ever-changing standards of education. I have been guiding children for more than 10 years, and I create a space where children are happy, confident, and independent.

With my certifications in First Aid, CPR, and Early Childhood Education, I balance safety, education, and fun, to equip children with the tools they need to thrive and achieve a bright and happy future.

The Academy Strives to educate our students through a S.T.E.A.M and Play based curriculum. Our Goal and Philosophy is to prepare them Mentally, Emotionally, and Physically to successfully enter kindergarten and beyond by exposing them to various modalities of learning. Our Mission is to enhance their social skills, fine & gross motor skills, creative expression, literacy, math and science skills - all while having fun in a devoted and nurturing environment.

Enriching Lives

Foreign Language: With basic instruction and cultural exposure in German, French, Spanish and Armenian. Taught by our own teachers and is tailored for preschoolers, it is a collaborative theme-centered course encouraging students to learn about the different languages and its practices.

Fitness: Our program includes a daily combination of Martial Arts/ Yoga and Dance instructions. Allowing them to develop and enhance their skills further along building confidence self-esteem and fostering wellbeing.

What works

S.T.E.A.M: A S.T.E.A.M based curriculum which is an acronym for Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Mathematics, is not only fun for our students but in addition, represents the creative thought process that explores curiosity, fosters imagination, creativity and reflections through a problem-based learning approach.

Play: A Play based curriculum also sometimes referred to as a 'child-centered' curriculum benefits a child in developing their communication literacy, emotional and social development.

Both: Both curriculums combined, engages children to apply all their learning senses for success.

Location

Bright Steps Academy Preschool / Childcare is a home daycare created to spark creativity and learning in a clean space. For your convenience and safety, our home includes a driveway for parking. We also have dedicated areas for learning and activities that include a backyard, a nap room, an art area, and a reading area.

Our Whittier daycare is located in a family-oriented neighborhood with a park and an elementary school. Street parking is available and we are accessible to nearby freeways.
