I have been passionate about working with kids since I was in Middle School. During High School I became very interested in learning about how children learn & develop, so I started taking college level classes in Psychology & Early Childhood Development.
My senior year I became a kindergarten intern where I was responsible for:
✓ Following the curriculum, Creating lessons, & Giving test/assessments.
✓ Planning activities, Reading, & Attending parties/field trips
✓ Resolving conflicts, Monitoring lunch/recess, & Assisting children with task.
Following High School I became a mother to my own 2 children who are 3 & 5. I also recently worked as the nanny of a 1 year old. I will assist with chores, cooking, laundry, & shopping.
I enjoy finding creative ways to entertain them & I'm very schedule/routine orientated. I prefer a proactive, positive reinforcement approach, rather than jumping to punishments such as time out. I also will only take a job after meeting with the family & being sure I feel like I am a proper fit for the parents, child(ren), & home dynamic. I believe that it's more than just supervising children while their parents are away, it's building a relationship with a family that depends on me to put their children first, be responsible, respectful, trustworthy, & caring.
I completed the following courses:
✓ Early Childhood Development I, II, & III
✓ Nutrition & Home Economics
✓ Psychology & Sociology
✓ A Year Long Internship Teaching Kindergarten at Sage Elementary
