While I have not had any professional experience in child care, I have had many years of experience caring for young children. I have 5 younger sisters, and many younger cousins. I am often the babysitter in my family. Until covid occurred, I had been volunteering at a childcare program since I was 13. This program was specifically for children with disabilities. Parents were able to drop their children, and their siblings off, and I would get buddied up with a child for 4 hours, while the parents were able to take time to themselves. I am also majoring in social work in hopes to pursue child welfare. I would like to work within the foster care system to help better the lives of children. Therefore, while I might not technically have any experience, I am well-versed and knowledgeable when it comes to children and caring for them.
