Hello! Some things to note about myself are that I am currently on track to receive my bachelors in Biological Sciences as of 2025 in hopes of continuing my education in pediatrics. I’ve been employed at my local preschool as an afterschool teacher for almost 2 years and I help with problem solving amongst children between the years of 3-5 of all behaviors along with preparing them for snack, rest, and/or potty time. A few key skills often used in this job are communication, memorization, patience, and organization. It is important to keep an eye on each kid knowing their potential health concerns and risks that can be affected by numerous things such as weather, dietary restrictions, heart complications, etc. The preschool is very diverse in behaviors which has granted me the experience of working with children of all temperaments and cognitive abilities. Some to mention would be ADD, ODD, ADHD, Autism,etc. The biggest skill that is utilized in this line of work is having patience and being understanding in circumstances where the children are trying to express their emotions in a way that does not cause harm to others. Prior to that, I have babysat for ages 8 months-10 years of age for extended hours whether it be morning, evening, or overnights. I’ve established great bonds with my children as I have been invited to birthday parties and trick-or-treating upon their request. I have taken numerous childhood education courses in highschool in which we had visited the local preschool and presented a new fine/gross motor craft to the kids two days a week. I enjoy preparing crafts and games with/for the children and watching their cognitive development! Along with this, I have also taken and completed the babysitting seminar offered at Inspira.
