Hello There!

My name is Onya and I am excited to get to know you and have the chance to help out your family.

A little background on me, I have a vast range of experience working with kiddos with ages starting at 5 months old through high school in a variety of different capacities. Some of which include, coaching, mentoring, being a camp counselor, babysitting, and nannying.

My childcare philosophy is to lead with compassion and focus on explaining when something goes wrong rather than yelling or snapping at the little ones, no matter the age. Through the use of communication, de-escalation, and the practice of emotional intelligence skills/coping mechanisms I work with kids to help find healthy and positive ways of navigating the world including any obstacles that may stand in their way. I love learning, singing, dancing, going on walks, listening to music, playing, playing sports, and exploring the world with your little one to help them learn and grow.

With that being said, I do plan to follow any instruction that you provide to a T and do not mind asking questions for clarification when needed. I will maintain a strong and consistent loop of communication between myself and the parents I am working with to keep you updated on anything I notice such as changes in behavior, health, and the meeting of exciting new milestones! I do not mind taking photos for you (only with your permission, of course!) so that you have cute & cool memories to reflect on at the end of the week.

I appreciate and expect clear, transparent, and frequent communication from you so that we can all maintain being on the same page and address any issues between us as they may arise. I request that if there is something that comes up, please let me know as soon as possible and I will do my best to work with you on finding the best solution. Finally, I can also be quite flexible and willing to work around issues as long as there is strong communication to facilitate us finding new solutions.

I am willing to do chores around the house related to the children I am caring for and some meal prep depending on the intensity. I look forward to speaking with you soon!
