Hi! My name is Mariya Johnson, and I’m a 20-year-old who recently moved back to Omaha after spending the last several years in Florida. I’m very family-oriented and come from a big family of seven with five kids. As the second oldest, I naturally took on a caregiving role from a young age and have always been the go-to sitter in my family. I’ve also spent a lot of time caring for my 1.5-year-old niece, which has only deepened my love for working with little ones. Being around kids has always brought me joy—I love making them laugh, helping them learn, and creating a safe and positive space for them to grow. I worked at the YMCA as an after-school care coach at an elementary school, where I engaged with children every day, supporting them through structured activities, playtime, and emotional needs. I enjoy cooking, cleaning, and keeping things organized, and I take pride in being dependable and nurturing. I’m currently studying psychology and hope to become a child psychologist one day, so working closely with children is something I care deeply about. I’m excited to find a family I can connect with and support in a meaningful, consistent way.
