Dear parents, I would like to share a little bit about myself. I have been married for 47 years. and I have three children and two beautiful granddaughters. I am originally from Mexico, and I have an Agricultural Engineer degree. However, my passion has always been teaching. This passion comes from growing up in a family of teachers. The most influential person in my life was my grandmother. She was the principal of my hometown elementary school for many years. She was loved and well-respected by her community. I admire how many lives she affected by all the love and care she had for her students. In 2010, I had the opportunity to start Kids of the King daycare. My desire was to provide and expand the services provided in a daycare setting and care and love children the same way my grandmother did. I was able to build a science-based curriculum with a focus on building emotional intelligence in young children. Moreover, I had the privilege to partnered with the University of Texas for a year with the BEECH "Biginning Education :Early Childcare at Home”. This program offered training in how to responsively support young children’s social, emotional, and cognitive development. Throughout these years, I have taken multiple courses in child development, and I keep current certifications in CPR and First Aid.
It has been an honor to prepare the children in the daycare for an educational schooling. However, my greatest joy has been building relationships with them and their parents that last even after they leave the daycare. I was recently invited to celebrate one of my first kiddos’ Quinceañeras this year. I counted this as a blessing! I have been able to continue being a part of the children’s lives even after they leave and grow. My prayer is that every child that comes to the daycare feels safe, unconditionally loved, and has a joyful learning experience the child will always remember.
At Kids of the King Daycare, our home daycare is designed for play, creativity, and learning! Our daycare has a driveway for parking. Within the space, we have a nap room, an art area, and a reading area to create a comfortable environment for all of our activities.
We are located in a quiet Houston neighborhood just around the corner from an elementary school and a middle school. Our family-oriented neighborhood has convenient street parking and accessible freeways.
