Angela B.
I am a nanny with 8 years experience with children ages 2 months to 11 years old. I also have babysitting and mentorship experience with older children and teens. I approach nannying with a lot of love and care for the whole family, and create safe, nurturing, learning-rich environments in which children can thrive.
As a poet and writer (MFA from the University of Minnesota), I love to engage children’s imaginations with story, song, and other creative expression activities. I follow children’s curiosity, building their inner confidence that they are seen, heard, and valued, and encouraging a love of learning that can last a lifetime. I value nature connection and love exploring the outdoors. I affirm and encourage emotional expression according to each child’s developmental stage, and teach emotional regulation and social skills.
My training and life experience also includes time as a college writing instructor, a yoga teacher, a birth/postpartum doula, as a student of embodiment practices, and world travel. I weave the richness and learnings of these experiences to my work as a nanny, offering a warm and loving connection that can complement and support relationships between parents and children.
My deepest childcare intention is one of unconditional love and acceptance. Patience for the kind of day we happen to be having today. A ready sense of humor, and a willingness to be flexible, to learn and grow from our days together. And with parents, clear communication and receptivity to the unique needs of your family.
