Hi! I’m Jess and I love kids. I have been sitting, playing, and exploring with kiddos for 20 years — I earned my pocket money watching kids in the neighborhood, tutored and babysat throughout high school, nannied throughout college, nannied full time between college and graduate school, and babysat throughout grad school as well. I’ve volunteered for the Children’s Museum and spent several years volunteering for a local no -profit that educates low-income children about architecture as it relates to their homes and neighborhood.
I enjoy spending time with babies and kids alike because they are so fun and curious about the world. Parents say I'm a kiddo whisperer - I think it comes from treating children with respect and sympathy without condescension. The world is bigger than them and communicating needs, desires and discomfort without having the right language or words is frustrating and I empathize. Even with the smallest of kiddos (my professional nanny experience began with caring for a 6 week old infant 50 hours a week), I'm incredibly patient, anticipate needs while understanding that every child is unique. I think children respond to my approach for that reason.
Bottom line, I'm pretty fun. I'm an architect and set designer in film, love exploring curiosities, reading - I always follow the lead of the kiddo regarding activities. Spending time with kids never feels like work and it brings me joy.
