Rita A.
I graduated a year and a half early from California State University Sacramento in December 2021 with a degree in Child and Adolescent Development. Even before pursuing higher education, I've worked with children, ages 4-18 for 10 years teaching them dance choreography. Last year I worked for one semester at an after-school program and gained a lot of experience tutoring and supervising children. Teaching dance and working in the program heightened my love for teaching and children. I love making connections with them and look forward to making more! I enjoy taking care of children and meeting their needs. My degree taught me the importance of connection and attention in early adolescent life. Through my experiences, I've learned how to resolve conflicts, observe nonverbal tone and action differences, appeal to children, and more- all of which have made me a more prepared caretaker. When working with children, I know that they are as capable as we equip them to be. I want to help facilitate their upward growth by engaging, playing, and teaching with them. I'm so happy to work with children because I know how beautiful, intelligent, and inspiring they are. I look forward to implementing my knowledge through caring for children and working with their families.
