Hello, family!

My name is Nailah Hayes. I am a college student attending Norfolk State University pursing my Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing degree. I also have a 12 month old baby boy.

I chose nursing as a career because of my love and passion for helping others, especially children. I did volunteer work within my school where I got to shadow another teacher. I was able to work closely with children who had learning disabilities, and that’s what made me really want to get into nursing. In nursing you are not limited to certain specialties and it is a never ending learning cycle.

I started my baby career in August of 2022, but I have always worked with children whether it was family, family friends or neighbors. I worked as a personal care aide for faithful servants care and I worked with a client who was a stroke patient, and also a client who was very independent and just needed companion care.

I have worked at 3 licensed childcare facilities from La Petite Academy, River Road Early Learning Center, and Primrose School. I have been an infant, toddler, and preschool teacher.

I have experience with transporting adults and children. I have experience with field trips or taking children out to do outside activities. I have experience with diapering, potty training, bottle feeding, baby lead weaning, lesson planning and more.

I am CPR, First Aid, and DHO Certfied. I am up to date with all my vaccines, including flu and TB.
