Before earning my degrees at Elmira College, I worked as a babysitter part time for 2 children ages 1 and 3, as well as two children ages 5 and 11. My mother was an at home babysitter for my entire childhood, so I grew up with a great role model. During my college years, I worked as a teaching assistant at ACDS Westchester, a preschool for special needs children. I was able to aid in children's growth and development and teach them many skills. I completed two student teaching placements; one in a 1st grade special education class, and another in a 5th grade class. I have had many other classroom experiences throughout college in the grades 1-6. I have many skills that will help me to be a great babysitter or nanny, such as patience and empathy, experience with children of various backgrounds, and ability to teach children of many ages. I would love to work with children one-on-one or in a smaller setting in which I can connect with the children and foster their growth and learning, while providing quality care.
