Welcome: I take pride in my home away from home setting that provides a small safe environment for children to learn during the most important time of their development. My family childcare provides learning through structured activities, reading, theme-based curriculum, creative play, imaginative play, outdoor activities, and free time. I provide quality care for your child by giving them a safe, comfortable, and loving environment. I believe that it takes a village to raise a child and I am a small part of that. Communication with families is very important for each child to thrive in my setting. This allows parents to stay in the loop about their child's activities and behavior throughout the day, but also helps parents reinforce the gains the children have made.I have been working with children and teenagers in daycare settings, emergency shelters, group homes, outreach programs, schools and coaching for 24+ years. I take my business very seriously and consider myself to be a professional childcare provider. My credentials include a Bachelor of Arts degree in Human Services and Minor of Art from Saint Mary's University of Minnesota. I have had 300+ hours of training to increase my knowledge and skill in working with children. I am a 3-star Parent Aware quality rated provider. To get rated I went through extra training and professional development. This goes beyond health and safety licensing requirements).I believe every child is unique in their personal growth. Success and growth come from encouragement, praise, education, and play. Building every child's self-esteem and confidence through these things will help them maximize their full potential. I feel teaching the ABC's and 123's are very important to a child's development. However, teaching respect, kindness, sharing and working with others are just as important. My daycare will provide developmentally appropriate practices and activities that will promote social, emotional, physical, and cognitive development.
