Welcome to Read for Life! We offer childcare for families looking to provide their child with a loving and safe environment that’s just like home. At our home daycare, our goal is to help children learn important social, emotional, and behavioral skills that prepare them for a successful and happy future. We offer an environment that advances curiosity and inquisitiveness through Project-based and Developmental Play-based activities. We offer programs for a wide variety of ages from 12 months to 14 years. At our daycare, we provide a culturally diverse learning environment by offering programs in different themes and introductory to Spanish (letters, colors, shapes, seasons, months of the year and days of the week). I am a retired NYCDOE teacher. My area of expertise is Reading. Children normally leave for Kindergarten with all the reading skills they need to be successful. I'm passionate about childcare, and I have more than 30 years of experience caring for children with and without disabilities. With my professional experience and certifications in First Aid, CPR, teaching, and Early Childhood Education, I'm highly accomplished in teaching both educational and intentional play activities designed to develop children's' psychological, emotional, behavioral, and social skills.

Location

At Read for Life, our home daycare is designed for play, creativity, and learning! Within the space, we have a backyard to create a comfortable environment for all of our activities. Our family-oriented neighborhood has convenient street parking and accessible freeways and an elementary school that is couple blocks away. Transportation (cars, buss, train) easily accessible to our home. We are located in a quiet Long Island, New York neighborhood. We also have a nearby park that has various age appropriate activities for each child.
