Program
Blessed Beginnings Academy is a warm, nurturing in-home childcare program designed to feel like a second home for children. We provide a safe, loving, and engaging environment where children can learn, play, explore, and grow at their own pace.
Our program focuses on play-based learning, early childhood development, outdoor play, social-emotional growth, creativity, and building independence. We believe children learn best when they feel safe, loved, and encouraged to be themselves.
We offer a more personalized approach than a traditional childcare center, allowing us to get to know each child’s personality, interests, strengths, and individual needs. Our days include age-appropriate learning activities, arts and crafts, story time, music, sensory play, outdoor activities, water play, gardening, and plenty of opportunities for imaginative play.
We strive to create a strong partnership with families through open communication and regular updates, while providing children with the consistency, structure, and nurturing care they need to thrive.
At Blessed Beginnings Academy, our goal is simple: to give every child a loving foundation where they feel valued, confident, curious, and excited to learn.
I’m Sabrina Tatenco, the owner and director of Blessed Beginnings Academy. My love for caring for children started at a very young age. I began babysitting when I was just 13 years old, and even then, I knew there was something special about working with children. What started as babysitting grew into a genuine passion and, eventually, my calling.
I have always been an advocate for children. I truly believe that every child deserves to feel loved, heard, respected, and seen for exactly who they are. I try to see the world through a child’s eyes and remind myself that the little things can feel very big to them. I pay attention to their emotions, personalities, interests, and the ways they communicate their needs—even when they don’t have the words to express them.
Being a mother has only deepened that perspective for me. I understand how much trust a family places in someone when they welcome that person into their child’s life. I want parents to feel confident that their children are not simply being supervised, but genuinely cared for, understood, and encouraged.
As a licensed family childcare provider, I have completed required childcare and safety training, including CPR and First Aid and mandated reporter training. I’m also continuing my education in early childhood education with the goal of obtaining my teaching credentials. I’m passionate about continually learning and growing so I can give the children in my care the best possible foundation.
My approach is simple: connect with the child first, then teach. I believe children learn best when they feel safe, loved, and confident enough to explore. I want every child who comes through my doors to know that they matter, that their voice matters, and that they have someone in their corner.
For me, childcare has never just been a job. It is something I have loved since I was 13, and being an advocate for children is something I know I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

Blessed Beginnings Academy is located at 1465 Cresthaven Place in Oceanside, California, in the 92056 area. The facility is situated within a quiet, established residential neighborhood in the Peacock area of Oceanside. The surrounding community consists primarily of residential homes and is well suited for a small, home-based childcare program.
The neighborhood provides a calm, family-oriented environment while still being conveniently located near schools, parks, shopping, and other community resources. The area is easily accessible for families traveling throughout Oceanside and the surrounding North County communities.
Our facility offers children the opportunity to learn and play in a safe, comfortable home setting. The residential surroundings provide a more intimate environment than a large commercial childcare center, allowing us to create a nurturing atmosphere where children can feel secure, known, and cared for. The neighborhood setting also supports our program's emphasis on outdoor play, exploration, and age-appropriate activities.
