I just graduated from nursing school in December, and although I am not yet licensed, the last semester of my curriculum involved pediatrics. I was introduced to child psychosocial and physiologic development as well as learned about common illnesses/diseases found in the pediatric population. I have experience in caring for children in the medical setting as I did a pediatric hospital rotation for a month in September, but I also have personal experience with caring for family member's children. I am currently in the process of getting my Pediatric Advanced Life Support and Neonatal Resuscitation Program certificates, where I have already completed the lecture portion and only require the skills-training portion for both.
