Leah D.
Babysitter in Cumberland, MD
This will be my first experience with doing child care for work. I am currently getting my cpr certification, first aide certification as well as child care certification. I am very confident that I will be an exceptional candidate for this position. For one, because of my love for children. For two, I am an independent mother of two children of my own. My boys are ages nine and ten. With that being said, I know how to deal with rambunctiousness, messes and chaos all while staying calm and understanding. My oldest child is on the spectrum, as he was diagnosed with Asperger’s 5 years ago. I know how to level with children and talk to them in a loving and compassionate way but also be stern while offering encouraging direction. I know how important it is to find someone down to earth and responsible when it comes to your little ones and the worry of leaving your children in someone’s hands this day and age. I want parents to feel at ease and know their children will be safe and sound in my care. I am also very good at caring for babies. Although my boys have grown quite a bit I have not lost that natural maternal instinct and sometimes refer to myself as the baby whisperer (LOL). I often care for my niece who has just turned one year old. I have a big family with lots of children. Although, besides friends’ kids and family, I do not yet have any “legitimate” work experience in this field, I am beyond confident that working with children is something I am very capable of and good at. I feel that any family that gets to know me and let’s me into their children’s lives would be happy with their experience. If you are interested in meeting me please reach out to me by phone or email.
