I've had the opportunity to be a babysitter/nanny for most of my life. I began babysitting at 8 years old (mostly watching myself) and then transitioned into watching the neighborhood kiddos, younger family members, family friends, and acquaintances of my parents and friends. Now, as a mother of a 5 year old and a part-time camp counselor, I find that my childcare skills have developed from just being nurturing, to being absolutely authentic and child-like. Children deserve a respectful, nurturing, and playful caregiver. Rest assured that your kiddo(s) will have all their needs met and the occasional playmate (my son will be tagging along).
