From a young age, I have always had a natural responsibility for caring for and looking after children. Growing up in a large family, I often helped take care of my younger siblings and learned how to be patient, dependable, and nurturing. Those experiences are what first inspired my interest in childcare.
I began babysitting for family members, and eventually, they started recommending me to their friends. Although I took a break from babysitting for a while, I recently had the opportunity to care for my mamaw’s children for a week. That experience reminded me how much I truly enjoy being around children, helping them, keeping them safe, and being someone they can rely on. It made me realize that childcare is something I genuinely love and would like to continue pursuing.
