I have been nurturing young children for 27 years in the Head Start community. My BS in Early Childhood Development has prepared me to care for infants through children 8 years old. My experience encompasses caring for children 6 months to ten-year-old's. I have training in Trauma Smart-a program developed to help children through stressful situations to better manage their feelings and emotions. I love doing screen-free activities with children. Science and Steam activities are my favorite. I love nature, music, dramatic play, literacy, science and dancing. Even though children are out of school for the summer doesn't mean learning has to stop. Nor does it mean learning has to be boring and full of dittos and workbooks. I believe in intentional teaching, but also love those little spontaneous moments to stop and look at an interesting insect or watch a road or construction crew doing their job. Young children are like sponges. The more things they are introduced to the more they learn about the world around them. I am not a "sit in front of the TV" kind of sitter. I'm active and love nurturing and guiding young children to be better, to be active and never stop learning! I have light medication training if your child needs to take medicine. However, I do not give shots. I can also do light housework, and meal prep (of which I will also guide the children in helping.) Children as young as 2 1/2 years old love to help with meal prep and cooking, as well as chores if you make it fun and exciting. I've learned if I have a picky eater, 9 times out of 10 they will try something new if they get to help prepare it! I look forward to hearing from you soon! Have an amazing day!
