Profile Hi, my name is Khamanie, and I have been working with children for around 7 years. I have two younger siblings and have always looked after them growing up. I also come from a big family with a mom as a teacher, so I always found myself volunteering to watch my younger cousins or family friends. I am currently a student at Spelman College, majoring in health science with aspirations to become a cardiologist. I have a strong passion for helping others and those in need. In my downtime, you can find me reading a book, cooking, shopping, or hanging out with family or friends. During semesters when my college schedule permitted, I also worked as a babysitter. I planned hands-on activities that encouraged healthy development, social interaction, and the growth of age-appropriate interpersonal skills that children typically develop through engagement with their peers. I worked as a one-on-one intervention volunteer supporting students whose first language was Haitian Creole. In this role, I provided individualized academic assistance to help students develop the skills needed to meet school standards and remain on track for promotion.
