Kennedy T.

My name is Kennedy Town, I am 26 years old, and I have had a passion for kids for as long as I can remember. When I was 5, and my sister was born, you could not tell me that wasn’t my child. I wanted to do everything for it. It got to the point where I started asking my daycare teachers if I can help out in her class. From them, I knew I loved working with kids. Growing up I would babysit for a lot of family friends. I took my first paid babysitting job from one the families that I cheered with when I was 15 years old. When I was 18 I started to take it more seriously. I would babysit for my former high school teacher. She had 4 kids; 9, 6, 4, and newborn. Most people would expect for me to say it was tough but it was honestly a lot of fun. The sisters would make the situation easier and would help out if needed so I was never stressed. Throughout college, I worked at a daycare, Foundations for the Future. There I worked in all ages from new born to school age, but I primarily worked with the toddler classes. I LOVE the toddler stage. I think it’s the most fun because they love to explore everything. I have babysat for a few families that I met at the daycare and to this day I keep up with some of the families I taught. Currently I coach competitive cheerleading. I have been coaching a variety of cheer, tumbling, and gymnastics since I was 17 years old. I enjoy watching the progression of my athletes and knowing I had a hand in their growth. Seeing the smiles on the kid’s faces whenever they achieve a new skill, makes my heart warm. Overall, kids are my passion and it’s what is leading me from leaving accounting.
