I have a love for children and esp. working with them to teach things like arts and crafts, artwork such as working with clay, and painting. I will assist with homework where I can (with the exception of teaching the "new math" which I do not understand). However, I can proofread a paper and help students understand how to proofread their own work, help with writing and understanding poetry and in selecting the topic for a paper and researching for the paper, etc.
I am good at cooking and would not mind preparing lunch or dinner or even breakfast ( make a very good omelet with mushrooms). I understand food allergies and will endeavor to work around those as well as food preferences. I would not mind having older children help with making cookies or cupcakes.
I listen to understand a child's perspective and respect parents' disciplinary structure, which can be very individualized based on a child's personality.
I am willing to jot down notes on a child's activities while with me and changes or issues I notice.
