My name is Emma Atkinson, and I moved to Kennebunkport two weeks ago. I come from a large family with two older sisters and two younger brothers, one of whom has mild autism, and I spent a lot of time taking care of them growing up. In middle and high school, I babysat for a family with five children. I am passionate about child and young adult care because I am naturally a caring and loving person, and I want people to get off to the best start they can have. I am an excellent student that enjoys creative writing, art, as well as music. I believe that if one starts out in a loving environment, one will continue to spread love and compassion to themselves and others.
I was a water safety instructor as well as a lifeguard at Saint Paul Public Pools in high school. I am extremely familiar with basic first aid, CPR, and the use of an AED. I loved teaching the children how to swim because I loved the look on their faces when they could swim safely and proficient by themselves.
