I am a mother of 2, ages 5 and 2 years old. I started babysitting when I was 12 and have babysat many children over the years and as an adult worked in nursing homes and even worked as a private in home caregiver for an elderly women. I am a mother so I know the level of care that a child needs to succeed and grow into wonderful humans. My parenting and babysitting style is a little bit of everything, minus spanking. I feel children do best when you talk to them and also listen to their needs, if that means watching their body language or just listening to their words. Children don't have the same coping abilities as adults so teaching them how to work through their feelings I feel is very important.
