Babysitter in Nampa, ID
I was a live in Nanny and I had quite a few babysitting job while growing up. my love for caring for those who can't care for themselves evolved into caring for the elderly, specifically those with severe mental disabilities such as dementia, Parkinson's, Alzheimer's. I love being able to proved care that goes above and beyond my job description especially if it enhances the quality of life to my clients and those around them. In my experience the elderly in these facilities didn't receive basic human care that they paid a ridiculous amount of money for. I loved being able to come in and give them back their dignity, allow them to take control over parts of their care because they have lost a lot of the control in their life between their mind, their body and more. I approached them in a manor that allowed me to make a very strong connection with them which 9/10 got their response to me to be very different and positive compared to those who work in house with them. for example, when I start with a client they have been physically and verbally abused to the point they wont allow caregivers to care for them especially come shower time. My approach got a very different reaction, they loved when I came and were excited for showers and to get dolled up. A lot of the elderly in the memory wards revert back to a child like stage, due to my extensive work in hospice and caregiving along with my back ground in child care from a very young age I believe I would be a great asset to any family looking for someone to care for their child. I have excellent communication skills, I'm very patient, empathetic and compassionate because I understand they are still developing and their communication skills are not all that strong but they have very strong emotions, which makes communicating during tough times hard. I understand the importance to keeping a level head when the child is unable to. children look to adults for comfort, support and the know how to navigate their difficult feelings so it is extremely important for me to demonstrate being calm and collected so they are able to regulate their emotions to a calm and collected state.
I use to be have my CNA, CHPNA, CPR, First Aid, and other credentials. I got a spine injury while working hospice which no longer allowed me to proved the care the elderly needed from me, due to this I let all my credentials expire because I went a different career path. I'm willing to get what ever credentials needed
