Hello there :) My name is Ashley. I am a 38 year old single mom of 5 children. I was a stay at at home mom for 14 years to my children Gabrielle -14, Cole- 12, Bryce -10, Everly- 8, and Maverick- 4.
Now that all of my 'babies' are old enough to be in school full time, I am seeking employment outside the home. Having my resume looking a little blank after so many years of raising kids doesn't usually give employers much to work with when considering my work ethic and job capabilities. I have learned so much being a mom that can't be taught in a college course, or on the job training... unfortunately those aren't always the qualifications being sought out.
I love love LOVE being a mom, and children have always been my favorite variety of humans. I have been a lifestyle children and family photographer for 10 years. I ran my business on the side while my kids were still at home with me, and until the Pandemic I had a pretty steady clientele. I loved it! My heart for children helped me to capture their natural innocence, genuine joy, and curious minds with a creative eye.
In my experience children need and thrive from structure but need downtime, and flexibility at times. No child is alike, and they all respond to reward and punishment differently. Each of them, like us adults, speak a different love language and the most effective way to bond and communicate with them is to learn their love language and speak it and do so daily.
I'm a huge advocate for lifting up and encouraging other moms/women.
