I have patience with children. I make sure they know they are loved.
Also, instead of saying, "No, don't that. No running", I tell them what I want them to do, for example, "Walk please", and I show them how to do it, for example, "Look at me. I am walking. This is safe. Can you show me walking feet?"
I let the kids know when they are doing something positive. For example, "Did you pick up the cars all by yourself? You are being helpful and tidy!"
