Hi there, my name is Luke Shapiro. Last December, I moved to Aspen to take a semester off of school and plan to transfer to Colorado College in the fall of 2022. I'm studying to be a Spanish K-12 teacher but would like to focus on elementary education. All my life, I've loved working with kids more than anything. After high school, I studied at the College of Charleston for two years for early childhood education. Six months ago, I felt like I lost my passion for school due to the hardships and hard times of Covid. My dad lost his job, so it was also difficult to pay for. Covid put everybody in a dark place. Therefore I decided to take a semester off and move here. After developing a love for the area, I've decided to stay! I'm currently working full-time as a ski-technician here. I've truthfully never been happier to be in a new environment and have my motivation to pursue my dreams again. My passion for teaching quickly returned after my experience fitting many kids' boots which isn't an easy task. Although I don't have experience being a nanny, I have often babysat my family members, have taken many college courses on elementary education, and work one-on-one with kids daily. I would be so appreciative if you found the time to meet me. I genuinely think I'd be a fantastic candidate and hope maybe have the opportunity to meet your family soon! Thank you so much.
