I have been a nanny to a family for 18 years in New York City, I worked 11 hour days, 5 days a week for most of it and really became very involved and close to the kids!!
The first boy was 18months old when I started,
he is now almost 20 years old and I love him dearly!! His Brother is 10 years old and I have cared for him since day one!!! I love both of them as if they were my own!! The family had arranged with me that when the youngest turned 10, they would no longer need a nanny. The youngest turned 10 in January and I decided to move to Lewes DE. Since being here for Two (+) months , the 10 year old came to visit me for 8 days on his spring break and we had a great time together!!!! He thinks of me as family as his parents also do!!
I loved being a nanny to those kids, I was the nanny in the play ground that played with the kids and helped bring other kids together, not the nanny sitting on the bench on my phone.
I arranged play dates, set up projects, got to know their teachers and was very involved with
the children's interest and ups and downs!
I am sure being a nanny in NYC is very different than here in Lewes, as we took the subway everywhere and did lots of walking!!
I have bought a new car and now drive most places but I truly like to be as active as I can, especially when I am with kids!! I love being on the floor with small kids or playing silly games with older ones, as well as reading, listening and talking with them!! I am very present and available to them. The family I worked for in NY still keep in touch with me as well as the two boys I cared for do. I am a very good care giver!!! and I enjoy it!! :)

I am looking for a similar situation here in Lewes, To work for a family that needs excellent and genuine care for their child or children coming from an excellent and genuine care giver!!! :)
