What Makes Me Especially Good With Children

I believe my ability to connect with children is natural and innate. From a very young age, I have had a unique ability to pair with children, especially children who struggle with social skills, including children with autism. This connection comes easily to me—it is not forced or mechanical. It feels like a vocation, something I was born with.

Because I can successfully pair with children who have disabilities and social challenges, I feel very confident working with any child. Building trust, comfort, and emotional safety comes naturally to me, and once a child feels secure, learning and growth happen more easily.

I am calm, soft-spoken, patient, and emotionally present. I do not rely on harsh language or raised voices. Instead, I use empathy, positive reinforcement, and understanding. I follow the child’s lead at first, because children trust adults who respect their world. Once trust is built, I can guide them toward learning, homework, routines, and skill development in a gentle and effective way.

I also deeply respect parents. I am a parent myself, and I understand that trusting someone with your child is one of the most serious and valuable decisions a family can make. I take this responsibility very seriously. I believe in open communication, respect, kindness, and compassion toward both children and their families.

I enjoy being active with children—playing games, running, jumping, reacting, laughing, and engaging in their world. Even at 45 years old, I remain energetic and playful. Children often feel comfortable with me because my personality matches their energy and curiosity. Sometimes they forget I am an adult, and that is part of how trust and connection grow.

This natural connection, combined with my professional experience and training, is why working with children feels easy and joyful to me. I genuinely enjoy teaching, playing, learning, and growing alongside them. This is not just a job for me it is who I am.

I am a bilingual professional with a strong background in health sciences, military service, and direct patient care. I earned an Associate of Science from Northern Virginia Community College (NOVA) in 2022. I served in the U.S. Army Reserve from 2010 to 2024, where I specialized as a CBRN (Chemical, Biological, Radiological, and Nuclear) Specialist and later as a Dental Assistant, completing advanced training in San Antonio, Texas, in 2023, and serving with a unit in Virginia.

After my military service, I worked as a Nurse Assistant for two years, gaining hands-on experience in patient care, safety, and daily support. I am currently employed by Autism Learning Partners in Fairfax, Virginia, where I work closely with children with autism, providing structured, compassionate, and individualized support.

I am a mother of two adult children and have a natural passion for working with children. I am continuing my education and plan to pursue a master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology at George Washington University. I am seeking additional work opportunities to support my educational and family goals while completing my studies. I am known for being reliable, patient, and highly committed to the well-being and development of those in my care.
