Joanna R.
I have been helping children my whole life and I LOVE IT! Children are my passion and my expertise. I could never imagine doing anything with my career outside of working with children in some capacity.
Starting in my teen years, I worked as an in-home babysitter for local friends and families; offering full-time nannying services in the Summers. Throughout high school, I tutored students in Spanish, Math and English. I continued through college and went on to study Elementary Education at Valparaiso University. I graduated with my degree and licensure in grades K-5.
After starting work in my very first bilingual Kindergarten classroom in Green Bay, I returned to school at the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh, where I became certified in English as a Second Language and Bilingual/Bicultural education, as well as Early Childhood education. I spent 17 years working in public elementary schools in the Green Bay area as a bilingual educator before deciding to utilize my EL degree.
I currently work in the Manitowoc Public School district as an English Language teacher, K-5.
I offer child care for families on the weekends, tutoring throughout the week, and I nanny for families in the summers. I also have just over a year of experience providing Respite care for a number of families, including overnights and extended trips.
I'm a certified, licensed professional. I have many references. I also speak Spanish!
