Samantha C.
I have grown up as one of the older kids in the family, so I was used to the environment of offering a helping hand, showing them how to do something, making sure they are being kind and fair to each other, etc. I also helped and eventually ran summer camps as the head coordinator for a few years, for ages 4-14. This camp was around horses and we also went swimming, so the dangers were higher as were the safety precautions. I also baby sat, house sat, pet sat, and helped with cleanliness and organization for the barn owner. With the younger ages I volunteered in nurseries at a local church for years. I have a passion for creating a childhood that every kid dreams of all while maintaining a safe, learning- focused environment for all.
As for the household maintenance side of things, I recently worked for a company that did residential cleanings. We offered dusting, vacuuming, polishing, and cleaning of the whole house and patio.
Being a nanny is so much more than just caring for the children it's creating a clean, happy, and healthy environment. This often starts in the kitchen, I have recently had an increased desire for making things from scratch. If it matters, I make my own butter, buttermilk, rolls, pies, cookies, and am always looking forward to trying out a new recipe everyone enjoys.
If you have pets, you are also in safe hands, as I am a Certified Veterinary Assistant, I am well versed in medication administration, some training, proper diet, and best care for fur-babies. I am also fear free certified, so I am aware of how to create little to no stress in even the most stressful situations.
If chosen, I will get CPR and first-aid certified and become well-versed in things the family prefers or the child is interested in. I am pretty familiar with sports and regular interests. I also know some limited sign language and am open to learning more.
